Verspreiding in Nederland (toelichting) |
Imported on a frequent basis with azalia plants in greenhouses and sometimes in the wild. It was first described from the Netherlands, at Boskoop (province of Zuid-Holland) in 1912. Most of the records are from the southern half of the country, where some populations are known at localities where the host plant is present in (public) gardens. The species is able to survive the freezing winter temperatures, but because of lack of the host plant in the wild the species is not able to expand its range rapidly. It does not feed on the broad leaved Rhododendron species. |
