It is often found in greenhouses but it might also be found commonly in the wild, where it feeds on wide range of Herbaceous plants and shrubs. The species is able to survive mild winter temperatures. The species was mentioned erroneously three times as new for the Dutch fauna in the literature with the following years mentioned: 1965, 1972 and 1993.
