Ecologische impact (toelichting) |
The larvae feed on roots, and the adults on leaves of a large number of shrub species (including indigenous species), mainly in (warm) urban areas. It thereby is a competitor to other herbivorous species. |
|
Economische impact (toelichting) |
Damage to ornamental (urban) shrub species does sometimes lead to control by pest managers, as is the case with other Otiorhynchus species as well. |
