Difficult to distinguish from its ancestor the sterile hybrid S.x townsendii. All over the appropriate habitats in Netherlands. Spartina townsendii var. anglica was originally used in coastal protection projects, but quickly turned out to be rapidaly expanding invader that is now widespread and common along the western European coast up to ~Denmark.
