Motacillidae [familie]
Motacilla [genus]
flavissima [soort]

Breeding is mainly confined to some bulb-growing areas in the west of the country. As the species is thinly distributed and nests in habitat unattractive to birdwatchers, it may have been slightly underestimated. Nevertheless, it becomes clear that a serious range contraction occurred since the 1970s, when the species was first discovered as a regular (and not accidental) breeding bird in small numbers. The population was probably at its maximum in the early 1980s (200-350 bp); afterwards, numbers declined rapidly (40-80 bp in 1998-2000) without obvious reasons.
