Torrenticola amplexa is a very rare species in The Netherlands. Nowadays there is only one stream with a population, i.e. the Rosep in the province of Noord-Brabant. The species has been found here from 1949 onwards, in the non-canalized part of this lowland stream. All other recent records are of single specimens. In the past, the species was more common. Remarkable is a record from the Grensmaas (the Meuse at the Dutch/Belgian border), where it has been found after a period of high water discharges.
