Invasiviteit (toelichting) Mediterranean invader, who most likely expanded its distribution through an increasing amount of canals. First found in Paris in 1864, Belgium: 1895 and Holland: 1915. It is speculated that the species entered Holland from Belgium though the Zuid-Willemsvaart.
