Invasiviteit (toelichting) |
Occurs locally in houses and walls, makes in natural situations nests in rocks. Species is indigenous in the south of Europe and seems to spread its distribution area to the north, on own strength but also by human transport. It is not sure if L. emarginatus can be called an exotic species or that it is a newcomer from the south. |

Has been found on four locations, of which only one is currently occupied. Has become fairly common in Flanders (Belgium) in walls of old buildings and the species will probably spread its range into the southern parts of the Netherlands. |

Ecologische impact (toelichting) |
Will have not much ecological impact. There are not many indigenous species in the Netherlands that are completely restricted to walls that will suffer from competition or predation by L. emarginatus. |
|
Economische impact (toelichting) |
Control or eradication (by private persons or professionals) of indoor ants costs money. |
