Verspreiding in Nederland (toelichting) |
This species, described from Germany by Hübner in 1913, is often called ""Indian meal moth"". There is no hard evidence this species originates from Asia. Since the first records in the 19th century, where it was recorded even in the province of Friesland already, it became clear the species was present at many localities across the country. The species is a common resident in many houses with forage and meal products. It spreads by e.g. fat ball bird feeders. |
