Lestes dryas is a common species in The Netherlands, al-though it is largely confined to the Pleistocene area. It is also found in low numbers in the coastal dunes. These records probably pertain to vagrants, although reproduction occasionally occurs. Lestes dryas is mainly found in heath and bog habitats, where it favours shallow waters that dry wholly or partly up in summer. The species appears to be to-lerant to acidification. The distribution appears to be stable.
