Chalcolestes [genus] (1/1)
viridis [soort]

Lestes viridis is extremely common in The Netherlands and is present wherever trees are found overhanging standing water. It oviposits in a wide array of woody plants, as well as in sturdy herbaceous species. This species appears to have profited by the urbanisation of the landscape in some parts of the country. Constructed ponds in parks and gardens provide a habitat that is unsuitable for most dragonflies but ideal for L. viridis.
