Indeling

Tetrigidae [familie]
Tetrix [genus] (5/5)
bipunctata [soort]

The Two-spotted Ground-hopper used to occur in a few localities on the Veluwe. The last specimens were found in 1975. Despite thorough searching the old localities, it could not be refound. We therefore consider T. bipunctata to be extinct from The Netherlands. It used to occur on a forest track and in heathland area. Because the species is comparatively difficult to find, there is a slight possibility that it has been overlooked. The Dutch specimens belong to the form with longer wings.
