The Long-winged Cone-head was first recorded in our country during the Orthoptera mapping scheme. Four populations and several isolated individuals have been found. Its recent expansion matches that in Great Britain, Germany and Belgium. It inhabits similar habitats as the Short-winged Cone-head, although more frequently in cultivated, arable land. Several specimens were mistaken for long-winged specimens of C. dorsalis.
