The Sickle-bearing Bush-cricket has been found in a few localities in the southeastern part of our country. It was first recorded in 1968, but more frequently since 1984. The species is expanding in Northwestern Europe during the last decade. It occurs on relatively warm open hills with spread shrub such as broom, bramble and small birches. Although there is no direct threat, management of such biotopes aimed at conserving the half open character of the habitat will benefit the species. The insects are relatively difficult to find due to their very inconspicuous sound.
