  • Verspreiding in Nederland (toelichting) This cosmopolitan species, which is very similar to Grapholita funebrana (Treitschke) was first recognized in Rotterdam (1960) by the Plant Protection Service when it was imported with Prunus persica. Since it has been found on two localities: Simpelveld (1983) en Hoogeveen (1994), the latter was bred from a larva on Prunus persica nucipersica. The species be regularly overlooked and might be more common then known. It is not unlikely that it will be able to establish itself in the wild when hostplants like Prunus sp. are available.

    Ecologische impact (toelichting) Not known.
Economische impact (toelichting) The larvae of C. molesta might attack fruits of several fruit trees, e.g. Prunus and Malus. There are no outbreaks known of this species, for this reason there will be a low economic impact.
