Invasiviteit (toelichting) |
This generalistic herbivore is easily transported to other areas with plant material, and has settled as well in other European and Asian countries. In the Netherlands, a parthenogenetic population is present, and its population can increase fast locally. It has already spread to several urban areas and a nature reserve. |

Ecologische impact (toelichting) |
The larvae feed on roots, and the adults on leaves of a large number of tree species (including many indigenous species). It is therefor a competitor to many other herbivorous species. |
|
Economische impact (toelichting) |
Damage to ornamental (urban) shrub species does sometimes lead to control by pest managers, as is the case with other exotic Curculionidae species as well. |
